The optional Master Plant Controller (MPC) coordinates multiple resources as one plant—unifying voltage regulation, frequency response, and economic dispatch at the grid connection.
Power Dispatch Control allocates active and reactive power (or Voltage setpoints) across resources to meet grid connection targets—balancing cost, performance, and equipment life.
- 1The energy market, scheduler or plant operator sends a plant-level power target to the MPC.
- 2The MPC compares the target with the POI meter reading and applies ramp-rate and interconnection limits.
- 3The MPC splits the target into MW and MVAr (or voltage) setpoints for each resource controller.
- 4Resource controllers pass setpoints to their units and report actual output back to the MPC.
